What file type is needed for my ringtones on my LG Scoop?

I got the LG Scoop (similar to the Rumor for another company) and cannot figure out what is the file type I need so the songs on the microchip can be my ringtones.. It used to be mp3 for my old phone, but Ive tried wave and mp3 among others with no luck. Any help please?
