My Pride, My Blackberry Curve

When a friend asked me the other day on why I bought the Blackberry Curve, I realized how fond I am of this little gadget. It’s light at about 110 gm, and the keypad has been designed to suit thumb typing. The Blackberry Curve has a Speaker phone with voice Activated Dialing facility, which is useful for me when I needed to make called while driving. The phone also has a media player and a 2.0 MP camera which has built-in zoom and flash. A special feature the Blackberry Curve has is that it has the trackball, organizer and Blackberry Maps. It’s hard not to fall in love with this phone.

Prior to the Blackberry Curve, I had a Motorola KRZR which was slightly lighter at about 102g. It was a clamshell phone that has internal antenna, Bluetooth, USB, PC Sync, voice dialing, speaker phone, and picture ID. The phone has a removable Micro SD card slot which allows me to add more music files. The Motorola KRZR I had was in cosmic blue and silver sail color casing, which I liked very much, and because I have many appointments and meetings to attend, the MotoSync facility which synchronizes all contacts and calendar details with a touch of a button, thus allowing me to keep tab of my activities.

Actually, before getting the Blackberry Curve, I did consider the BlackBerry 8100, also known as the Blackberry Pearl. The phone uses a modified QWERTY layout on the keyboard with an input algorithm known as SURETYPE, but I find it not suitable for my lifestyle and needs because the built-in memory is only 64 MB, and although it can be expanded through microSD card, the lack of certain functions did not appeal to me. All in all, I still love my Blackberry Curve…
