How can you find out how many text messages you have sent/recieved on a LG Scoop?

I have a LG Scoop (AX260) from Alltel and I would like to know if anyone knows how to find out how to see how many text messages you have sent and recieved. I find it kind of difficult to count since there is the chat-style text messaging.
