Can you take the Sims card out of a normal phone and put it in a PDA phone for Cingular and it works?

Hi..
I want the Cingular 8525 but I’m not sure if i’ll be able to get it with the same plan that my family wants go get from radioshack or where ever because it comes with unlmiited texting for every line for 29.99 and I don’t see where that option is online. So, if radioshack doesn’t have the phone that I want can I just get a free one and take out the sims card and put it in the PDA phone?
