Can I make Cingular Sony Ericsson phone use Tmobile chip?

I have a Sony Ericsson with a Cingular logo on the bottom, I have a Tmobile chip that I have inserted but the cell phone is asking for correct chip. How can I tweak it in order to use it with a Tmobile chip? Is there some kind of software that I can use or can independent phone shoft help with this? Please help…
