Can i get my old text messeges off of blackberry pearl through desktop manager?

My phone broke the other day, the key pad wont work, but i have a number of text messeges that may be important. Is there any way that I can some how retrieve them through desktop manager if I connect my blackberry pearl to my computer? I have been trying to figure it out for a while now but I am not very computer/phone smart.

Unfortunantly no. The text messages dont transfer to desktop manager in a readible file. If you do a full backup and then restore that backup to a new or differnt blackberry then you can read them that way but that would be the only other way. Good luck!
