span style=”font-size: 12pt; font-family: “Times New Roman”;”>When Research In Motion released the first BlackBerry in 2002, they never anticipated how popular the unwieldy device would become. Blackberries were originally PDAs with a focus on push email and web browsing using the built-in QWERTY keyboard. The current series of this corporate smart phone integrates numerous wireless information services that include internet faxing, text messaging and mobile telephony. BlackBerry’s spotlight on convergent media allowed it to combine a range of applications for immediate sharing of information especially useful for the business community. The portability of every communication medium wrapped into one mobile device was the USP of the smart phone.

For every BlackBerry fan, the number one priority remains protection from wear and tear. BlackBerry accessories like cases and skin packs keep the smart phone safe. A sleek case is also convenient, with a belt clip-on attachment or BlackBerry holster making quick and easy access possible. Customize your experience by choosing BlackBerry faceplates, lanyards and wrist straps that make carrying the phone easy and fun. The protection that a case or cover provides is invaluable. Whether it is moisture, dust or dirt, the right protection can keep your BlackBerry up and running 24/7.

When you purchase a BlackBerry, you’re enabling total mobility. Unfortunately battery life can get in the way. A BlackBerry charger for USB or vehicle attachment means the smart phone can be fully charged and ready to go, wherever and whenever. However, the sleekest option in BlackBerry charging would be the Sync Pod – a charging dock that allows users to connect their phone to a PC for a data exchange while it is being charged up. For the more cautious, a BlackBerry battery replacement is the safest option to keeping your phone going in case of an emergency.

The world of touchscreen mobile phones is starting to get exciting, as the most recognised brand in the business has announced not one, but TWO mobile phones: the sleek Nokia 5800 and the totally mind-blowing Nokia N97.

Early Nokia touchscreens

A lot of people seem to be under the incorrect impression that the Nokia 5800 is the first ever touchscreen mobile phone to come from the Finnish manufacturer. It’s not. The opposite’s true, because there’s been a few touchy-feely phones released under the Nokia brand. Beginning with the 7700, the world has seen a few Nokia mobile phones which work by you prodding and poking the screen.

They all had reasonably big (for their time) screens, but unfortunately, they shared something else: they were unbearably hideous. Just one of those mobile phones, the 6708, displayed a modicum promise, but that was destined solely to be sold in China, and so, it wasn’t meant for us in these sceptred isles. Unfortunately, that meant that the phones we got were total, utter toss.

However, these unpleasant memories have all been exorcised due to the launch of a pair of new Nokia mobile phones, both of which have touchscreens, and both of which are much, much more alluring…

Nokia 5800 – a piece of art

The first phone up is a brand new member of Nokia’s Xpress range of music mobile phones, the stunning Nokia 5800. This phone is pretty obviously designed for music and media, as it has a dedicated XpressMusic button which opens a list of links to music, videos, the web, and more.

Oh, and the Nokia 5800 has a 3.2 inch touchscreen, to let you use those different media files. Basically, the Nokia 5800 was designed to be a little handheld jukebox and movie player, and as music phones go, this is easily one of the sweetest. The Nokia 5800 also has, built-in, a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA data connection and GPS, making it a brilliant all-round mobile phone, as well as a brilliant media player. Oh, and it has a lanyard to attach a fake guitar pick. Pointless, but brilliant.

Despite all those features, the Nokia 5800 is very definitely a mid-range device; it isn’t, nor will it ever be, a full-on top-ender. That role falls to another mobile…

Nokia N97 – more powerful than Mexico…

With the Nokia 5800 on track to bring touchscreen mobile phones to the mid-range market, that leaves a massive gap at the absolute top-end, and yes, there IS a touch-based mobile phone coming soon to take its place as the top-end powerhouse: the utterly jaw-dropping Nokia N97. This uses the same Symbian S60 Touch operating system and crams it inside the body of a proper, full-on smartphone. Which means it has an even more huge, 3.5 inch screen, a kick out QWERTY keyboard, and the camera’s been upgraded to 5 megapixels. The Nokia N97 is, obviously, destined to be the new flagship Nseries mobile phone, and it really is as hyper-powered as the rumours had us believe, with HSDPA, GPS, digital compass, and integrated Flash, so that you get an internet experience that tops any other mobile phones! Put it like this: the Nokia N97 is unbelievable. It easily outdoes other mobile phones and as the 5800 aims firmly for the mid-range, I reckon that the Nokia N97 will totally DOMINATE the world in 2009!

Face it- we live in a fast-paced world, where our electronics have become vital to our success in both our personal and professional realms. Yet, with the constant rate of technology change coupled with the high frequency of use that our devices endure, electronics have become valued possessions with a high turn-over rate. Specifically, a blackberry or smartphone that is outdated or no longer working has littered our desks drawers or even worse, our landfills. Rather than attempting to sell their used blackberry or smartphone, many people mistakenly throw away their used blackberry or smartphone, littering land-fills with un-biodegradable plastics and metals, which carry toxic chemicals such as lead, mercury, and nickel.

However, there is good news. There is an easy way to sell your smartphone or blackberry, whether it is working or not. Since 2002, http://www.cashforsmartphones.com and http://www.cashforberrys.com has specialized in providing an easy and fast process to sell your blackberry or smartphone. Rather than littering land-fills with hazardous substances, you can sell your blackberry or smartphone and recycle it, preventing hazardous chemicals from leaching out into landfills.

In addition, when you go to sell your blackberry or smartphone, we know that you want a process that will be both fast and easy. Don’t wait for people to bid on eBay or items to sell on Craigslist. When you go online to http://www.cashforsmartphones.com or http://www.cashforberrys.com you will get a free quote in just a few seconds. Following the quote, you will be rushed a prepaid box/envelope and, upon receipt of your blackberry or smartphone, a check will be mailed within one business day. Their entire process is clearly explained within the privacy policy of the company, an integral part of gaining your trust as a customer. In addition, there are multiple customer testimonials on both the websites, in which customers are surprised at the high value they received for their blackberry or smartphone. Many customers have highly recommended the websites to others as the best places to sell a blackberry or smartphone.

Essentially, it is a win-win situation. You will be paid to sell your blackberry or smartphone- recycling your old or broken device, which helps prevent electronic waste, and fosters the reuse of metals and plastics. Rather than trying to pay someone to repair your phone, you can sell your smartphone or blackberry to the ‘Cash for’ family, and get cash to help pay for your next blackberry or smartphone.

The world of touchscreen mobile phones is starting to get exciting, as the most recognised face in the industry has brought out not one, but TWO mobile phones: the sexy Nokia 5800 and the unspeakably mind-blowing Nokia N97.

Many people are under the false impression that the Nokia 5800 is the first touchscreen mobile phone Nokia have ever made. It’s not. Actually, there’s been several touch-based phones released under the Nokia badge. Beginning with the 7700, we’ve seen a couple of Nokia mobile phones that work by you pressing directly on the screen. They all shared pretty big touchscreens, but unfortunately, they shared something else: they were irredeemably rubbish. Just one of those devices, the 6708, displayed any potential, but that was destined exclusively for the Chinese market, and thus, it wasn’t meant for us in Britain. The mobile phones WE got were, and I use this phrase with much feeling, utter, and complete bobbins. However, those unpleasant memories have all been removed due to the debut of a pair of new Nokia mobile phones, both of which come with touchscreens, and both of which are so much more alluring…

Nokia 5800 – sound, vision and touch

The first phone up is a completely new entrant into Nokia’s Xpress line of music mobile phones, the gorgeous Nokia 5800. This phone is very obviously designed for music and media, as it has a dedicated XpressMusic touch-key which pops up a list of shortcuts to music, videos, the internet, and so on. Then, of course, the Nokia 5800 has a 3.2 inch touchscreen, to let you use those different media content. Basically, the Nokia 5800 was designed as a teeny handheld jukebox and movie player, and as music phones go, this is just about the sweetest. The Nokia 5800 also has, built-in, a 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA data access and sat-nav, so that it’s a superb all-rounder, in addition to being a wonderful media gadget. Oh, and it has a lanyard to clip on a fake guitar pick. That rocks.

However, the Nokia 5800 is very definitely a mid-range device; it isn’t, nor will it ever be, a full-fat top-ender. That position belongs to another handset…

Nokia N97 – mind-blowing…

With the Nokia 5800 on track to deliver touchscreen mobile phones to the mid-range market, that leaves a great big gap at the absolute top-end, and yes, there IS a touchscreen mobile phone coming soon to fill that gap: the frankly mind-blowing Nokia N97. This uses the same Symbian S60 Touch interface as the 5800, and crams it into the body of a proper, full-on smartphone. Which means it’s got a massive, 3.5 inch screen, a flip out QWERTY keypad, and the camera now weighs in at a meaty 5 megapixels. The Nokia N97 is, in a very definite way, destined to be the new flagship Nseries mobile phone, and it really is as high-spec as the rumours had us believe, with HSDPA, GPS, digital compass, and integrated Flash, meaning you get an internet experience like no other mobile phones! Put simply the Nokia N97 is unbelievable. It gleefully relieves itself over other mobile phones and while the Nokia 5800 aims to take over the mid-range, I reckon that the Nokia N97 will totally DOMINATE the world next year!

Is Your Company Data Secure? | Blackberry Hacks Are Here

Posted by admin | Posted in Blackberry | Posted on 24-02-2010

There’s a new route into your company’s secure data. It’s the Blackberry PDA. A hacking program has been developed which exploits the relationship between the Blackberry itself, a company’s internal server and the network connection to which both are attached. The hacking program works because the data tunnel between the Blackberry and the server is encrypted. Intrusions can’t be detected because the protective systems, such as firewalls, exist at the perimeter of the network. This begs the question of all business owners whose employees use a Blackberry: Is your company data secure?

The hacking technique is successful because there are very few companies equipped to detect and intrusion from the inside of the network. Another reason for hacking success is the fact that companies don’t see the Blackberry as a potential attack vector. The Blackberry is not your normal handheld device. It’s a continuously running code machine that’s always on and always connected to your internal network. It has constant direct access to whatever you give it access to and most company structures allow complete access to the internal network for their employees who use Blackberries.

BBProxy is the name of the Blackberry hacking program. It can be loaded on the Blackberry either physically or via e-mail as a Trojan horse. Once loaded, the Blackberry will call back to the hacker’s system and open communication channels between the hacker and the internal network of the company. This process runs in the background behind the safety of the company’s firewall scanning for hosts with vulnerabilities in security and is generally undetected.

Recently, an ad on eBay sold a Blackberry “AS IS” for approximately $15.00. While the device didn’t come with a cable, synching station, software or manual, it did come with something far more valuable. This Blackberry came with a stockpile of corporate data all there for anyone to read as soon as the device was turned on. Many employees are insufficiently trained concerning security issues for the electronic devices they use on a daily basis.

Company data is stored as attachements on a server, rather than the Blackberry itself, so if a device is ever lost or misplaced someone could easily read sensitive documents. The Blackberry lacks encryption capabilities and relies instead on users locking the device with a password. Unfortunately, anyone with hacking abilities could discover the password and let themselves into the network.

The beauty of the Blackberry is that it’s a do it yourself type of device. It basically allows you to take your office with you wherever you go and not be caught unprepared or without the correct documents of a given meeting. However, for individuals and companies who handle and funnel much of their business dealings through these wonderfully useful devices, both internal and external server security must be taken into account.

Despite all those features, the Nokia 5800 is very definitely a mid-range device; it’s not, nor was it ever meant to be, a full-on top-end monster. That position goes to a separate device…

Nokia N97 – mind-blowing mobile computer

With the Nokia 5800 on course to bring touch-based mobile phones to the mid-range market, that leaves a great big gap at the absolute top-end, and yes, there IS a touch-based mobile phone waiting to be unleashed to take its place as the top-end powerhouse: the frankly jaw-dropping Nokia N97. Put simply the Nokia N97 is simple incredible. It easily outdoes other mobile phones and while the Nokia 5800 aims firmly for the mid-range, I’m predicting that the Nokia N97 will totally DOMINATE the world in 2009!

Nokia: Are They On Top to Stay?

Just this week, Nokia released music phones into the market. With the ability to store approximately 100 albums, the consumer has access to all the music they could ever want to hear. Is this what the consumer wants from their cell phone?

The fact is Nokia, with headquarters in Finland, is on top for a reason. They not only listen to what the consumer wants-they do something about it. They are the world’s leading cell phone manufacturer and if things continue the way they have been, they will continue on their roll. With a global market share of approximately 34% in the second quarter of 2006, they’re aiming higher by releasing new and improved models.

Nokia’s new release, the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic holds about 1500 music tracks on their 2 GB microSD card and users can listen to their music while they use other features, like texting or the camera. If you want to listen to music in a public place, just plug in your headphones and if you prefer to listen to the music you’ve saved on a stereo, you can simply utilize their Nokia Wireless Audio Gateway AD-42W and you can play your music on any stereo. The Nokia 5300 also has other top quality functions such as a 1.3 mega pixel camera and high-resolution video ring tones. When it becomes available, the consumer should be able to purchase for just over $300.

The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic, however, is not the only music phone they’ve come out with. The Nokia 5200 also gives the consumer top quality music functions and will cost the consumer approximately $250. The Nokia 3250 XpressMusic is of a different design, giving it a more unique look and consumers will still be able to hold about 1500 music tracks. More expensive, it will retail for approximately $500.

Nokia has come a long way from when it came out with the first mobile phone in the 1970′s in the form of field radios for the Finnish Defense Forces. However, it wasn’t until the late 1980′s that the mobile phone technology allowed for international calls and the cell phone craze began. From then on, Nokia has remained on top, even with some difficulty it faced in 2004 when they failed to adapt to the market trends. While they have been behind others in new design innovation, Nokia is working to reestablish themselves among their competitors as has plans to retain their number one position in cell phone technology.

While cell phone technology may one of Nokia’s top income producing departments, Nokia has their hands in many different things. Nokia Enterprise Solutions provides a wide variety of businesses with a vast array of business solutions. They also have divisions in multimedia and networking, putting them at the forefront in the technology of today.

Nokia has the right outlook-they want to keep the consumer happy and the consumer continues to be the top priority for Nokia. Their continuous goals are to: create top of the line devices to be used by the consumer, include top quality Internet services as part of their offerings, provide enterprise solutions, build scale in networks, and expand their line of professional services. Their strategies for providing all of this-by prioritizing and investing in brand and design and commitment to the customer.

The fact is Nokia top priorities are to be the number one provider of customer service and products. They don’t just want to sell the most cell phones or provide the most service, they want to make certain the consumers are happy with what they are receiving and they want return customers. They understand that in order to design the best-of-the-best, they need to understand what the consumer wants from a product or service. While they did have a small downfall in 2004 in following the direction they had set for themselves, they are back in line to provide the consumer the best possible experiences in today’s technology.

In order to become the number one provider to the consumer, approximately 36 percent of Nokia’s workforce is in Research and Development, where they have centers located in 11 different countries and employ over 20,000 people. Their Research Centers are responsible for the increasing technological advances in the industry but also for adapting to changes in market trends and responding with knowledge and innovation.

Second in line to Nokia is Motorola. Working Mother magazine has just announced this month that the company made the 2006 Working Mother 100 Best Company list. This means a lot to those all over the world and you’ll find that Motorola employees are happily trying to beat out Nokia’s number one position. They, too, have prioritized and are working diligently to beat out all their competitors in offering top quality products and services. Whether its Bluetooth products, home networking, dispatching products, or virtual private networks, Motorola will have it, as they are known for their vast array of services in the United States and many other countries.

Motorola has just come out with several new products, including the Motorola SLVR. This sleek designed cell phone has many features that consumers demand and they are top quality. The Motorola SLVR is able to store music tracks and has Bluetooth technology. Again, however, Nokia has outdone Motorola with the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic. Not only does the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic allow for more music to be downloaded, it has several more advanced features and capabilities than the Motorola SLVR. Consumers know this but all it will take is one slip up for Nokia to lose its place.

So what will it take for someone, such as Motorola to take over the number one position in cell phone technology? The most important thing that Nokia can do is stay on top of the market trends and listen to what features the consumer wants. Without their top-quality Research and Development, they will not be able to stay where they are and they must continue to excel in this area. Motorola, in fact, could easily overtake their position if Nokia makes another mistake like they did in 2004.
