The document viewer functionality of this phone allows the users to create, edit and share Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF format files. The SureType keyboard software of this phone allows the users to avail smooth mobile navigation, at its very best. This thought is however not only laced with the results of magnificence and brilliance of both of the products mentioned, but is altogether robed in the fantastic features present in both of the handsets. Therefore let patience be the guiding light as the remaining part of this article thinks with the best of its ability about this thought while keeping in mind all the standard facets of mobile phones.

When the user takes both of the handsets in his hands he will be pleased with the smooth and light feeling from the surfaces of both of the mobile phones and also their weights with the Sony Ericsson W595 weighing about 104 gms and the Sony Ericsson T280i having a weight of about 82 gms.

The NetFront browser enhances the performance of internet usage in the Sony Ericsson W595 and this performance is further boosted with the presence of the WAP 2.0 browser and the xHTML browser. The Sony Ericsson T280i has the WAP 2.0 browser and the xHTML browser for providing the user with the benefits associated with internet browsing.

Exchange of data is a feature looked upon with a detailed perspective in both of these handsets and therefore the user is able to share data in a fast as well as an efficient way using either of these handsets. Hence in the Sony Ericsson W595, the speed of the data is kept quite high with the functioning of technologies like HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and GPRS(Class 10 with multiple slots feature of 4+1/3+2) and EDGE(Class 10). Data can be exchanged with USB devices with the use of the technology of USB v2.0 and Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP. The Sony Ericsson T280i has the feature of Bluetooth for the purpose of data transmission and GPRS for the purpose of speed and efficiency of data transfer.

The thought: “Sony Ericsson W595 vs Sony Ericsson T280i” also bears quite an interesting outcome in terms of the facet called multimedia. Both of the handsets are therefore provided with good multimedia features which enhance the capability of these mobile devices to entertain the user and hence relieve him of any sort of tension, boredom and anxiety.

Hence if the user wants to listen to good music he has the choice of both these handsets due to the presence of the features (related to music). Therefore the Sony Ericsson W595 is equipped with a Walkman player and also a FM radio with RDS, both of which give the much needed enjoyment in the time starved world today. The Sony Ericsson T280i is also quite a decent entertainment device with the facility of a FM radio.

Apart from this feature, another primary multimedia facility is the camera feature in these handsets.Hence the Sony Ericsson W595 has a 3.2 MP camera which is able to take pictures which have an image resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and therefore the user is able to take fantastic pictures with this mobile device. The Sony Ericsson T280i is also a good camera mobile phone with quite a decent camera capable of taking high quality pictures which are quite well defined and hence have a high degree of clarity in them. Hence the thought: “Sony Ericsson W595 vs Sony Ericsson T280i” is perhaps given quite a vivid meaning in terms of the features discussed above with the results being wonderful for the user in either one of the mobile phones.

The new C905 range of Cybershot mobile phones has now expanded to include a new colour variant, the Sony Ericsson C905 Silver edition is the latest version of this new 8 megapxiel camera phone to hit UK markets and swells the number of colour schemes availble to four in total.

Originally released in black the Sony C905 was then launched in a new bronze casing alongside an extremely similar gold version called the Inca Gold edition, now this flagship model from Sony Ericsson has been made available in a new sleek silver finish giving the phone a real sense of expense and worth.

The Sony Ericsson C905 mobile phone is the first slide designed handset to carry the Cyber-shot name. It’s packed with premium camera features that are rarely found on mobiles including a world-leading 8.1 megapixel camera.

The Sony Ericsson C905 Silver is a high flyer with a lot to offer.  The latest phone in Sony’s Cyber-shot range, the Sony C905 is equipped with an 8.1MP autofocus camera with an endless list of features.  Starting with a built-in Xenon and photo flash, the Sony Ericsson C905 Silver includes 16x digital zoom, image stabiliser, red-eye reduction, face detection, BestPic technology, geotagging and picture blogging.  Oh, and just for good measure there’s a secondary videocall camera as well.

Plus there’s an anti-shake image stabilizer to help you avoid blurry pictures, along with built-in GPS to help users remember where they took each photo! As you’d expect from Sony Ericsson, this is not just a camera phone. It is also a music player, a radio, a games machine and a web browser, adding WiFi and 3G connectivity to keep you online. But it’s the camera that really stands out. If you’re serious about photography, the Sony Ericsson C905 is an excellent choice.

The Silver Sony C905 also has an accelerometer which comes in handy for automatic rotation of the screen when viewing pictures and if you want to have a family viewing on your TV, then the TV output port is a blessing. The 2.4 inch TFT screen display is of course scratch resistant thanks to its high quality mineral glass cover.  When it comes to memory, the Sony Ericsson C905 proudly boasts 160MB user memory plus optional 2GB expansion.

Anything but lacking in its abilities, the Silver Sony Ericsson C905 offers Quad Band GSM with GPRS and EDGE technology and Tri Band UMTS (3G) and HSDPA support plus WiFi capabilities with DLNA support.

Multimedia features are overflowing on this phone with an MP3 player, FM Radio with RDS support and built-in GPS with A-GPS functionality.  Identify song titles and artists with TrackID music recognition software onboard, download music and games direct to your phone with PlayNow and share images and files with bluetooth wireless that comes with A2DP stereo support.  With video streaming you can watch live video’s on your mobile phone and download onto your pc using a USB connection.

Incredibly Sony have managed to pack all this into 104 x 49 x 18mm dimensions and the phone weighs 136g.  Battery life consists of 9 hours of talktime and 380 hours on standby with GSM networks and approximately 4 hours of talktime and 360 hours standby on 3G networks.

Initially available on O2 pay monthly contract deals it is expected that the Sony C905 Silver edition will be made available on further UK networks in the very near future with four different colour schemes to choose from the C905 is an attractive proposal for any mobile phone enthusiast especially those who demand the highest quality from their wireless devices.

Nokia 5800 Product Focus – is This the Future of Touchscreen Mobile Phones?

Recently announced is the first mainstream touchscreen device from Finnish manufacturer Nokia. They’ve made touchscreen mobile phones before, but… nothing like the awesomeness of the new Nokia 5800!

Nokia and touchscreens – lessons from history

Believe it or not, the Nokia 5800 isn’t the first of their mobile phones to feature a touchscreen. That accolade goes all the way back to the Nokia 7700, a mobile phone that, well, never actually got released. But it was still the first, nevertheless. It’s just a shame, really, that Nokia’s first attempt at a touchscreen mobile phone was, frankly, rubbish, since it had a bit of a dodgy interface, the looks… well, the looks were described as anything from ‘a bit misjudged’, to ‘looks like a taco’, all the way up to ‘bad prop from Star Trek’. The follow-up, the Nokia 7710 wasn’t much better, being a bit buggy, still huge, and it lacked the features that other mobile phones were rapidly starting to have (cameras, 3G and so on). After that, the only Nokia devices to have touchscreens were not actually mobile phones, as the concept was shifted over to their range of internet tablets.

But now, touchscreen mobile phones are all set to make a triumphant return to the Nokia range, with their newest and bestest touchscreen mobile phone ever: the Nokia 5800.

Nokia 5800 – touchscreen mobile phones for the masses

Soon to be released, the Nokia 5800 is sure to have a very big effect on their portfolio of mobile phones. And the inspiration of it can be traced back to the release of the iPhone, so you can be absolutely sure they’ve made the Nokia 5800 as slick and as user-friendly as possible. The new S60 Touch interface in the Nokia 5800 is tremendously elegant, as well as being really rather powerful. Put simply, it’s a joy to navigate round, and so much nicer than many other mobile phones on the market. Combine with a list of top-notch features, like 3 megapixel camera, HSDPA and so on, and you get a really cool smartphone. But it’s with music that the Nokia 5800 really shines, as it’s music that this beautiful mobile phone lives for, with a music player that really is second to none. In conclusion, I can sincerely say that the Nokia 5800 is one of the most impressive mobile phones I’ve seen in a long time.

But the surprising thing is… the Nokia 5800 is a mid-range mobile phone, not a top-ender. So what will happen, when the Nokia 5800 magically morphs into the first touchscreen Nseries mobile phone.

Captain N – the future is Nseries

There’s no doubt that the Nokia 5800 is a really cool mobile phone. It’s slick, pretty and clever. but what will the new S60 Touch interface be like when it gets put into Nseries mobile phones? Are we going to see something akin to the Nokia N96 that you control by prodding the screen? Well, the answer, unsurprisingly, is yes, as confirmed by Nokia themselves. The Nokia 5800 is merely the first toe in the water, as it were, and there WILL be Nseries mobile phones released with the new touch interface. That’s when we’re going to see the big, uber-top-end, ultra-powerful mobile phones, with cameras probably in the tens of megapixels, massive amounts of storage, and frighteningly fast internet access. They won’t be the Nokia N96 with a touchscreen, though, for the simple reason that they’ll blow everything away, the Nokia N96 included!

Sony Ericsson C905 – About to Lose Its Crown to the Samsung Pixon?

This year, one company is set on shaping the universe of camera-enabled mobile phones. That phone-maker is Sony Ericsson, and they plan to dominate the market with the Sony Ericsson C905. But they have competition in the shape of the Samsung Pixon. So, which will win?

Camera phones in history – the world created by Sony Ericsson

It’s rather apt, when you think about it, that Sony Ericsson should be the ones leading the way in the revolution in camera-equipped mobile phones. After all, it was they who kicked it all off, long ago, in 2002. Lest we forget, they were the first manufacturer to release a mobile phone that had a camera in it, in the UK. That mobile was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn’t really hit the mass market in the way that Sony Ericsson wanted, since it was an amazingly (compared to other mobile phones at the time) top-end smartphone. But, their most iconic handset in history was about to be unleashed, and that one WOULD have great market penetration. It was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it moved the goalposts. Here you had a device that stood head and shoulders over the rival mobile phones around it. It was small, it was sexy, and people LOVED it. Plus, let’s not forget that the Sony Ericsson T610 also had an integrated camera, and that it was really the first handset to go to the wider market, and make them think, ‘Hang on, we actually do want our mobile phones to have cameras in ‘em!’

Sony Ericsson C905 – the ultimate camera phone?

You just can’t deny power, and one thing is for definite: the Sony Ericsson C905′s got much more raw power than all other mobile phones you’ll come across in the UK. Why is it so special? Well, it’s the first camera phone to be unleashed upon the UK that has an 8 megapixel camera. Yup. 8. That’s a ludicrously huge pixel count, and it means that the Sony Ericsson C905 gives you the power to take the absolute most jaw-dropping pictures you’ve ever experienced, from any camera-equipped mobile phone, ever. Oh, and on top of that, don’t forget that Sony Ericsson have amped it up with Cyber-Shot technology, and that will make the photos it produces so much more sumptuous. Add in a brilliant multimedia player, WiFi, HSDPA and integrated GPS, and the end result is that the Sony Ericsson C905 is, without doubt, the best they’ve ever made!

Samsung Pixon – the phone to end Sony Ericsson’s reign?

Ok, so it’s fair to say the Sony Ericsson C905 is a work of genius. But is there a mobile phone that can beat it? Well, how about one with an 8 megapixel camera AND a full touchscreen interface? That’s exactly what you get with the Samsung Pixon. Mind you, it has to be said, the Samsung Pixon is a truly beautiful mobile phone, and arguably produces slightly crisper photos than the Sony Ericsson C905. And then, of course, there’s that huge touchscreen, and that slick interface, making for one incredibly sexy and lovable mobile phone. At the end of the day, it’s going to come down to personal preference, but of the two mobile phones (and bear in mind, when I say this, that it’s a Sony junkie saying it…), I’d really have to go for the incredible Samsung Pixon.

Sony Ericsson C905 – About to Get Beaten by the Samsung Innov8?

Sony Ericsson pretty much invented the camera phone, and they’ve now taken it to new heights with the 8 megapixel Sony Ericsson C905… but this high-tech shooter about to get knocked off its perch by the Samsung Innov8?

In context – how Sony Ericsson more or less built the world of camera phones

It’s rather apt, when you think about it, that Sony Ericsson should be the ones leading the way in the coming paradigm shift in camera-equipped mobile phones. Come on, it was them who started it all, long ago, in 2002. Let’s remember, they were the first company to unleash a mobile phone with a camera in it, in the British marketplace. That handset was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn’t really hit the mass market in the way that Sony Ericsson wanted, as it was a really high-end smartphone. But, their most iconic device ever was soon to hit the market, and that one DID get huge mass market appeal. It was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it entirely altered the mobile landscape. Here was a device that stood proudly over the other mobile phones around it. It was compact, it was slim, and people went MAD for it. The key thing was… the Sony Ericsson T610 also had an integrated camera, and that it was really the first phone to go to that wider market, and make people say, ‘Wait a sec, we actually do want cameras in our mobile phones!’

Nowadays, the market has diverged, into low-end devices, and high-end camera-equipped mobile phones; and Sony Ericsson want to rule both!

Sony Ericsson C905 – the ultimate camera phone?

There’s no denying power, and something is very clear: the Sony Ericsson C905′s got loads and loads more sheer power than any other mobile phones you can get in the UK. How come? Well, it’s the first camera phone to be announced in the UK with an 8 megapixel camera. Yup. 8. That’s a disturbingly high pixel resolution, and it means that with the Sony Ericsson C905, you have the ability to take the absolute sharpest photos you’ve ever seen, from any camera-equipped mobile phone, in the history of everything ever. Oh, and on top of that, remember that Sony Ericsson have packed it full of Cyber-Shot brilliance, and that will make the photos coming out of it so much more vibrant. Add in a stunning multimedia player, WiFi, HSDPA and integrated GPS, and you have to come to the conclusion that the Sony Ericsson C905 is, quite simply, the king of the hill!

Or is it? Does the world of high-end camera mobile phones really belong to the Sony Ericsson C905, or is it about to get a kicking from the Samsung Innov8?

Samsung Innov8 – the smarter alternative?

There’s one thing you can definitely say about the Samsung Innov8, that you can’t about the Sony Ericsson C905, is that it’s a smartphone. Because it’s based on Symbian S60 (just like Nokia’s Nseries mobile phones), that brings power, over and above the 8 megapixel of the Samsung Innov8′s camera. We’re talking raw processing power, and the ability to add on lord knows how much third party software, so that you can basically get your mobile phone to do anything you want. Yep, no doubt about it, the Samsung Innov8 is very powerful. There’s a downside, though. Combining the world of 8 megapixels with the world of Symbian mobile phones has made the Samsung Innov8 big. Ok, we’re not talking the size of Burma, here, but it’s still noticeably bigger and chunkier than the Sony Ericsson C905. I also say that the Sony Ericsson C905 is a better-looking phone. So, to answer the original question in the title: quite simply, no, the Samsung Innov8 will not knock the C905 off its perch, because in my opinion (and this seems to be backed up by how many were sold in the UK last week), it’s the superior phone.
